Too many crooked cops, both local and
federal feral, criminal behavior rampant all the way from the lowest to the highest levels of government, the invasion of millions of illegal aliens and anti-American ‘immigrants,’ and a society that has been taught in our public school Marxist indoctrination gulags that they don’t need to obey rules if they ‘feel’ that those rules are wrong. The proliferation of BS laws has created a situation in which law-abiding citizens cannot go through a single day without inadvertently breaking those laws and becoming criminals (if da gubmint decides to come after them) has created a WROL state in which no one is safe from a predatory ‘law enforcement’ organization.
This so much reminds me of how the Soviet state operated under communism. I realize that Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s The Gulag Archipelago is a massive reading project to tackle, but one should be familiar with it, perhaps at least Volume I. Just to understand how Article 58 was used to control (and murder) an entire nation, and look at the parallels with what is happening in America today. Many authors have warned us about the perils we face from our own ‘leaders,’ from Orwell’s Animal Farm and 1984 to Collins recent Hunger Games. And yet we read but do not comprehend, do not see the relationship of fiction to the world around us. I believe that there are several reasons for this: First, the NEA’s teaching of Socialism in the public schools, second, the public schools’ failure to teach the 3 R’s and critical thinking, and third, the advance of Political Correctness which stifles real discussion by creating subjects that are taboo for public discourse. And PC creates an aversion to anything but ‘feel-good’ propaganda which the public swills down like an arsenic cocktail just because they think the sugar on the rim of the glass is tasty.
The fourth reason is the ‘fourth estate,’ the press, which has become the fifth column of an enemy invasion. And the gullible, stupid public, not wanting to expend the energy to think, or not knowing how, grabs the lure; hook, line, and sinker. So their thoughts are directed into the chosen channels by those Marxists (calling themselves liberals, progressives, or social activists) that feed them the poison of rationed ‘news’ that has been carefully prepared for them.
OK, I’ve gone off subject (a little) but it was good to get some of the rant out. Here’s the article that got me going:
Lest anyone think that I am in any way anti-LE, let me assure you that I am decidedly NOT. I am LE, and what I am against is corruption, no matter if it is in government, Law Enforcement, news reporting, education, business, church, or anywhere else. I am also against anarchy, and that is what a society without the Rule Of Law is. Darwinism to the extreme: If I am badder than or wield a bigger weapon than another, then I should be the survivor and the rule setter. There is no intelligent reason that society should go there. Rule by force alone is not acceptable to intelligent people. Law insures that the weaker are not taken advantage of by the stronger. And while you cannot legislate people into thinking morally, you can put the fear of society’s lawful retribution into evil-doers.
