Acknowledgement Of A God-Given Right

The 2nd Amendment does not give us the right to self-defense.  That right is given by God, not men.  The Amendment’s intent is to restrict government from encroaching on a right that was given to all men.  And it is also a directive (I believe) to practice with military weapons for the defense of the public at large if necessary.  Well regulated meant well trained, not anything else.  No restrictions on the personal God-given right of the individual to keep and bear (carry) weapons.  One of our Founders, Tenche Coxe said that the sword, musket, and ALL the terrible weapons of the soldier are the birthright of the American people.  RPG’s anyone?

Anyway, Congressman Mike Bishop appears to understand where our rights come from and gave thanks appropriately.  God bless him, we need more of his kind.

Remember, Yeshua (Jesus) told his disciples to sell the shirts off their backs and buy a sword.  Two of the disciples already had swords, like the 2 LEO’s at the ball practice.  Jesus said two was enough.  If you present it to people that Yeshua hung around with armed ruffians, it might shake their paradigm.  But think about what a cool God we have:  He wants us to be armed at all times and to be prepared to defend the innocent and weaker members of our society.  I highly approve of God’s desire for my well-being.  And being a Torah-observant Christian, I like the fact that He has commanded me to gather with my other sword-carrying buds to feast and drink wine three time a year.  God is GOOD!

  5. Exactly, 100% correct…the Second Amendment does not give us the right to keep AND bear (carry and carry into battle) arms…it clearly affirms that the right already exists, and that the government has NO authority to infringe (act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on) on that right…in any way….ever! Great post!
