“What a terrible era in which idiots govern the blind.“
William Shakespeare
Back in Jr. Highschool I had to read a bunch of Shakespeare. I thought it was pretty boring until I happened across a book at the public library titled “Twisted Tales from Shakespeare” by Richard Armour. It changed my view of Shakespeare’s works completely. Since that time I have enjoyed everything Billy S. wrote. One of these days I need to get a copy of Armour’s book and read it again. Some of the footnotes were fantastic, like the one in “Othello” where Iago speaks of drinking a ‘stoop’ of liquor. The footnote said a stoop was enough liquor to make one ‘stoopid.’ See why I liked it?
