OOOOHHH…. Conspiracy theories.
But what is a conspiracy? Merriam-Webster defines ‘conspiracy’ as “Agreement between two or more persons to commit an unlawful act or to accomplish a lawful end by unlawful means. Some U.S. states require an overt act in addition to the agreement to constitute conspiracy. Individual conspirators need not even know of the existence or the identity of all other conspirators.”
So what is a theory? Merriam-Webster again: “the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another” or “a hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation”
So more accurately speculation on the causes and of events and the intent/motive of those involved in those events might be more accurately called a ‘theory of conspiracy.’ Unfortunately, speculation on hypotheses involving historical and political events is often thrown out as there is no definitive proof. But by its very definition, a conspiracy theory is not required to have definitive proof, only facts needing investigation. Are there totally stupid conspiracy theories? IMHO this is definitely true, but it must be determined by the analysis of facts and a reasonable, rational judgement based on the validity of evidence presented the the preponderance of the facts. On the other hand, are there conspiracy theories that stand up to argument or investigation when the idea of ‘reasonable doubt’ is applied? I would answer a resounding ‘YES!’ If an investigation leaves stones unturned or does not fully answer questions, the analysis is NOT complete, and competing ideas must be considered.
Knowing that both the media and gubmint lie like a rug, should we blindly believe them and not consider other theories? And, knowing that they lie and feed lies to each other, whether they ‘know of the existence or identity of all other’ are they not then conspirators by definition?
Think about it.
DON’T BE A SHEEPLE
Here is an article that everyone needs to read. There are questions that need to be answered.
FAST AND FURIOUS
This is NOT a theory. The ATF was caught red-handed and the links went straight up the chain of command to Eric Holder and evidence points to Obama’s knowledge of this illegal operation. If you are not familiar with this cover-up, check David Codrea’s work with Mike Vanderboegh. They broke the story. The MSM avoided it like the plague.
THE POINT I AM TRYING TO MAKE IS THAT YOU NEED TO KEEP AN OPEN MIND ABOUT WHAT YOU HEAR IN THE MEDIA. AND OF COURSE YOU NEED TO BE PROPERLY SKEPTICAL OF CONSPIRACY THEORIES. BUT MAYBE NOT TOO SKEPTICAL. One of my favorite lines of all time comes from Tom Clancy’s ‘Hunt for Red Oktober’ when the US submarine commander says to himself: “SURE I’M PARANOID. BUT AM I PARANOID ENOUGH?”
